The Value of Digital Ecosystems and How You Build Them
MD&M West, February 7–9th in Anaheim, CA, is a premier medical device and medical technologies expo and a fifth of the giant manufacturing event IME West. Randy Horton, Orthogonal’s Chief Solutions Officer, will be participating in not one but two separate talks at the expo.
“Balancing Usability & Security for Medical Devices” on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 11:15 AM–12:00 PM PST, will center on information security for Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) and connected medical device systems. Randy will be joined by Russ Branaghan, President and Chief Scientist at Research Collective, and Oleg Yusim, Sr. Director, Product Security – IT at Edwards Lifesciences. To get in the mood for this discussion, Randy recommends watching Christine Lavin’s humorous folk song about the difficulties of remembering all of her passwords:
“Clinical Diagnostics on Consumer Electronics (CD-CE): How AI is turning Smartphones into a Swiss Army Knife for Medical Diagnosis” on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 1:15 PM–2:00 PM PST, is a crash course on an emerging medical device and diagnostic category that aims to democratize access to healthcare by putting clinical-grade diagnostic tools on our smartphones. Randy will be co-presenting this talk, building on our November 2022 webinar on the same subject, with Adhiraj Mamak, Sr. Manager, Global Quality Compliance at Illumina.
